Authorisation of Veterinary Biocidal Products 
 
The State Food and Veterinary Service (SFVS) informs you that, in accordance with the Amendment to the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No. 686 of 24 July 2013 ‘On the implementation of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2012 concerning the placing on the market and use of biocidal products’ (hereinafter ‘Decision No. 686’), the SFVS does not authorise veterinary biocidal products from 1 January 2025. 

From this date, applications for authorisation of veterinary biocidal products shall be submitted to the National Public Health Centre under the Ministry of Health.

Authorisation certificates for veterinary biocidal products issued by the SFVS before the date of entry into force of the Decision No. 686 remain valid until the expiry date indicated on the certificate unless revoked. Renewals, amendments or revocations of these certificates will thereafter be managed by the National Public Health Centre.

The SFVS will continue to supervise veterinary biocidal products within its area of competence, provided that:
- The biocidal products in use have been authorised in accordance with point 3.4.10 of Decision No. 686;
- The biocidal products are used in compliance with the conditions stipulated in the authorisation certificates or permits referred to in point 3.4.10 of Decision No. 686.
